    About this paper

    1/4 inch graph paper

Quarter-inch graph paper, often sold as “4×4 quad ruled”, has squares that measure exactly 0.25 inch (6.35 mm). On Letter paper with a 1/4 inch margin you get a 32 × 42 grid.

It is the default grid in US schools and offices, and a natural fit for floor plans drawn at 1/4 inch = 1 foot.

    Frequently asked questions

What does 4×4 graph paper mean?

It means four squares per inch in both directions, the same as 1/4 inch graph paper.

How many squares per inch for quad paper?

Four. Use 5 per inch for engineering paper, or 10 per inch for fine data plotting.

How do I make sure the grid prints at the right size?

In the print dialog choose “Actual size”, “100%” or “No scaling”, and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”. To confirm, print our free calibration test sheet and measure the 10 cm line with a ruler.

Is it free for commercial use?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no download limit. You can use the paper for classes, worksheets, products and client work.
