    About this paper

    Printable graph paper

Graph paper (also called grid paper or quad paper) is paper printed with evenly spaced horizontal and vertical lines. The squares give you a built-in measuring system for sketches, charts, floor plans and math work.

This generator draws the grid as true vector lines, so a 1/4 inch square measures exactly 6.35 mm on paper, as long as your printer prints at 100%. Pick a bold line every 4 or 5 squares if you want a quad-ruled look that is easier to count.

    Frequently asked questions

What size is standard graph paper?

In the US the most common grid is 1/4 inch (4 squares per inch) on Letter paper. Outside the US, 5 mm or 1 cm squares on A4 are standard. You can generate all of them here.

Can I print more than one page?

Yes. Set the number of pages (up to 100) and the PDF will contain that many identical sheets, with optional page numbers.

How do I make sure the grid prints at the right size?

In the print dialog choose “Actual size”, “100%” or “No scaling”, and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”. To confirm, print our free calibration test sheet and measure the 10 cm line with a ruler.

Is it free for commercial use?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no download limit. You can use the paper for classes, worksheets, products and client work.
