    About this paper

    Ternary diagram paper

Each corner of a ternary diagram is 100% of one component, and the opposite side is 0%. Grid lines parallel to each side mark equal steps, so any point inside the triangle is a mix of the three parts, such as sand, silt and clay in a soil sample.

This template divides each side into 20 steps of 5%, with a bold line every 10% and labels from 0 to 100. Choose 5, 10, 20, 25 or 50 divisions to match the precision you need.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I plot a point on a ternary diagram?

Find the line for the first component’s percentage, then the line for the second. Where they cross is your point; the third component can be read from the remaining set of lines, and all three total 100%.

How do I make sure the grid prints at the right size?

In the print dialog choose “Actual size”, “100%” or “No scaling”, and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”. To confirm, print our free calibration test sheet and measure the 10 cm line with a ruler.

Is it free for commercial use?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no download limit. You can use the paper for classes, worksheets, products and client work.
